Originally from Austin, TX, Douglas Caballero is the Millennial Matt Lauer meets Anthony Bourdain meets Rolling Stone – with a Masters in Business, to boot.
He is a storytelling TV personality who has hosted, produced, directed and written hundreds of hours of unscripted TV and web shows, who brings intelligent perspective to current events and important issues through the lens of pop culture.
Presently, Douglas is the host and creator of the TRAVEL SHOW: WHO YOU KNOW featuring celebrities and musicians with a unique narrative device, never before seen in unscripted TV. In addition, he is the Executive Producer of MYSPACE WILCOX SESSIONS, the most beautiful live music video series on the web.
Most recently, Caballero was the guest host of YAHOO! TRENDING NOW in New York and he was the host, creator and producer of THE YOUNG TURKS: MUSIC & POLITICS SERIES on YouTube’s biggest news network The Young Turks.
In 2012, Douglas was the anchor and producer of the CW’S NATIONAL MORNING SHOW: EYE OPENERsyndicated by TRIBUNE.
He is also producing the Documentary Feature on the life of the late famed musician DJ AM.
Prior to that, Douglas was the HOST and SENIOR PRODUCER of pop culture and music for AL GORE’S Emmy Award-winning cable network CURRENT TV – hosting, creating and producing THE DAILY FIX, THE CURRENT FIX, CURRENT EXPOSED AND CURRENT MUSIC EMBEDDED. He anchored the network’s broadcast of the MICHAEL JACKSON MEMORIAL and he was the host and producer of the 2008 MUSIC & POLITICS SPECIAL and the 2008 HACK THE DEBATE.
During his time as a host, he has interviewed many notable and influential figures from the world of pop culture such as WU-TANG CLAN, CONGRESSMAN JOHN HALL, WILL.I.AM, KELLY SLATER, SHEPARD FAIREY, MOBY, MARK RONSON, JANE’S ADDICTION, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, ANDREW WK, DAVID BANNER and DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE.
To tell his on-camera stories, Douglas has traveled the world and to many of the most important media events including THE 2008 DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION, THE 2008 REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION, SXSW, LOLLAPALOOZA, BONNARROO, CANNES MIDEM, and AUSTIN CITY LIMITS MUSIC FEST and he has worked with organizations and brands like ROCK THE VOTE, ONE CAMPAIGN, KELLY SLATER FOUNDATION and MICROSOFT.
In 2011-12, Douglas was also the director and producer of teen hosted music web series “15ON15″.
As a commercial actor, Douglas has also starred in CANNES and EPICA AWARD-WINNING international TV commercials such as NIKE MUSICAL CHAIRS.
Douglas currently lives in Los Angeles and is an avid blues harmonica player and karaoke fanatic, who has been asked, in the past, to program Al Gore’s iPod (seriously).
